Hey Good Lookin'! Whatcha' Got Cookin'?

Well, butter my behind and call me a biscuit! You'll flip for these fun, eclectic kitchen finds from anthropologie. Who wouldn't want to measure their kitchen staples with these adorable nesting measuring cups? No aspiring chef would be worth her salt {or sugar} without a fabulous apron...I love the little floral touch on the one above. Rather than cookin', maybe cocktails are more your thing. This vintage cocktail book will put you in the mood to serve that martini or manhattan.

Say "I do"...to JCrew

Oh how I love JCrew....let me count the ways. How about this gorgeous "Caroline" gown? I love the deconstructed edges and the neckline that acts as a necklace. I would pair the chunky pearl "Luxe Cocktail" bracelet for a little flair without being too funky and top the look off with the "La Plume" satin peep-toe shoe in "Spicy Olive". I just might have to buy a pair for myself! I also just adore the twist bow front on this "Bow Monde" party dress and think it shines, especially in black. Paired with the "Majesty Stone" bracelet in "Black Diamond", your bridesmaids will be sitting pretty...stylish. The bouquet featured is from etsy (artist: ardesign). I am really into feathered bouquets right now and just love the touch of green from the cymbidium orchids. Find it all at http://www.jcrew.com/ and http://www.etsy.com/.

Owl Love You Forever

I found this cute cake topper on etsy.com (artist: melabo) and it reminded me of the Edward Lear poem The Owl & the Pussycat. "...and hand in hand, on the edge of the sand, they danced by the light of the moon..." I love etsy for all things creative and think these owls are precious. An interesting cake topper is a clever way to add a bit of your personality to what can be an overlooked detail for your special day. Visit etsy for your wedding needs @ http://www.etsy.com/.

Bippity boppity boo!

I just adore Fall, don't you? There are a few things that signify the turning of the season to me... the sound of a drumline before the start of a football game, a certain crispness to the night air, the fiery shades of changing foilage and the return of pumpkins. I love to incorporate natural and vintage aspects in my designs and these heirloom pumpkins allow for both. The beautiful soft colors and interesting imperfections of the heirlooms create the perfect centerpiece for any event. Not just for October, use them all season long! I'm sure Cinderella wouldn't mind her carriage turning into this pumpkin after midnight.

Southern Proper

Haberdashery for Southern Gentlemen. What a title! Aimed towards the preppy and "proper" set, they have taken all things southern and created a fabulous lifestyle brand. Out of Atlanta, Southern Proper offers among other things beautiful neckties, "Beau" ties, "Belle" bands; perfect for your groomsmen or bridesmaids. Some patterns include: Magnolias, peanuts, palmettos, pheasants, shotguns (with adorable little shells), mint juleps and of course, cotton. Much like its northern counterpart, Vineyard Vines, Southern Proper gives brides and grooms a fun and whimsical way to add a special touch to their bridal party's attire. I hear they also make custom sashes for bridesmaid's dresses. So cute...so Southern!

Cake, please!

So, here's little me
...probably 4 years old and just waiting for my little slice of heaven (a piece of that cake). I've always been a little obsessed with wedding cake and even had my grandmother bake me one (3 tiers and covered in M&M's, no less) for my 10th birthday. Growing up in a family of caterers, I was brought along to the majority of events while my dad, his brothers and the staff finished setting up. This cake was probably baked by either Miss Ruby at Seawell's Caterers in Columbia, SC (http://www.seawellscatering.com) or my grandmother and sits atop her antique silver cake stand...the same cake stand used at my wedding in July 2008. I begged MaMa to bake one of her special cakes for me and she did not disappoint. A 7-tiered wonder of coconut delightfulness. I wish I had a piece now! What kind of cake is your favorite?
