Weddings Unveiled Summer Issue Launch Party
Joni {Chocolate Butterbean} and I attended the Weddings Unveiled Summer Launch Party held at StudioWed and had a fabulous time. We both agreed the best and most delicious part of the evening was the gelato {goat cheese and honey for me, strawberry for her} and of course our hot off the presses issue of WUM. I will now kick back and peruse the delights that await between these pages.

Sock Hops & Soda Shops
I just love a sock hop! White gloves, oxfords, crinolines and corsages...so sweet. This board's inspiration comes from the fantastic first dance photo from Brooke Courtney. It just evokes thoughts of soda shops and sharing a shake and burger with your sweetheart. After the final slow dance, I imagine them riding into the evening on shiny red his and hers Schwinn bicycles, headed for Lovers Lane.

Citrus & Herb
{click to enlarge}
Summer is here and to us, nothing signals it better than the bright, juicy colors of citrus! Lemon, lime, orange; we love them all and are intrigued with the idea of adding the subtle greens of herbs to balance out that punch of color. A trend right now is using herbal notes in floral arrangements, event motifs, even favors for your guests. The sensory experience they create, alone or married with citrus, are heavenly. And while nothing tastes more refreshing than lemonade on a hot summer's night, why don't you try this lemon and rosemary recipe for your signature cocktail? Cheers!
Rosemary Lemon Fizz
1 1/2 oz Skyy Infusions Citrus flavored vodka
1/2 organic rosemary sprig
1/2 oz Meyer lemon juice
1/2 oz simple syrup
Dash of Soda
Garnish: rosemary sprig
Muddle rosemary with lemon juice and simple syrup in a shaker. Add ice and vodka and shake. Strain over fresh ice and top with soda. Garnish with fresh rosemary sprig.

King of Pops
click to enlarge; via me
We just love a man with culinary skills, don't you? And boy does the gentleman at King of Pops deliver. Add that to the fact that they are available for events and I'm positively swooning! Darlings, you must add this fun, foodie trend to your wedding day plans. We think it would be perfect as a pre-ceremony treat as guests arrive at your venue; or make it a delicious way to beat the heat during cocktail hour. KOP's paletas are made from locally sourced, organic fruits and unique flavor combos {honeydew w/lime zest and chocolate sea salt are delish!}. King of Pops can be found at the corner of North and N Highland, Irwin Street Market and Souper Jenny so mosey on down.
