ah, lilly...who doesn't love her fun, sometimes funky prints? they are always appropriate for a party! i, personally, love this livie dress...perfect for a rehearsal dinner or bridal luncheon. as summer is winding down, there is still time to relax by the pool, sip an ice cold glass of lemonade {or sauvignon blanc} and get some "color". you know lilly would!

Southern Proper
Haberdashery for Southern Gentlemen. What a title! Aimed towards the preppy and "proper" set, they have taken all things southern and created a fabulous lifestyle brand. Out of Atlanta, Southern Proper offers among other things beautiful neckties, "Beau" ties, "Belle" bands; perfect for your groomsmen or bridesmaids. Some patterns include: Magnolias, peanuts, palmettos, pheasants, shotguns (with adorable little shells), mint juleps and of course, cotton. Much like its northern counterpart, Vineyard Vines, Southern Proper gives brides and grooms a fun and whimsical way to add a special touch to their bridal party's attire. I hear they also make custom sashes for bridesmaid's dresses. So cute...so Southern!

Cake, please!
...probably 4 years old and just waiting for my little slice of heaven (a piece of that cake). I've always been a little obsessed with wedding cake and even had my grandmother bake me one (3 tiers and covered in M&M's, no less) for my 10th birthday. Growing up in a family of caterers, I was brought along to the majority of events while my dad, his brothers and the staff finished setting up. This cake was probably baked by either Miss Ruby at Seawell's Caterers in Columbia, SC (http://www.seawellscatering.com) or my grandmother and sits atop her antique silver cake stand...the same cake stand used at my wedding in July 2008. I begged MaMa to bake one of her special cakes for me and she did not disappoint. A 7-tiered wonder of coconut delightfulness. I wish I had a piece now! What kind of cake is your favorite?
