A Marshmallow World

It's a Marshmallow World over on Style Me Pretty with this shoot from Jill LaFleur & Simply Bloom. We are constantly searching for new and exciting ways to feature details in our work, so for us, this inspiration shoot takes the {toasted marshmallow} cake! Don't these pictures just make you want to curl up with a book in a warm blanket next to a cozy fire? We do! Unfortunately, it's still a little warm in Atlanta for blankets and fireplaces, however, we were inspired to run to the grocery to purchase all of the ingredients for some old-fashioned, ooey-gooey s'mores! Pure bliss!

Cotton Picked

We're still a little sleepy this morning from attending the Dian Fossey International Gorilla Fund event last night. The trip to "Rwanda" was hosted at the fabulous Mary Bairstow atelier and featured the artwork of my dear friend, Courtney J. Garrett. And the weekend fun doesn't stop there! We have a baby shower on Saturday for this little butterbean and then we're headed to Auburn for some football! Whew! We're ready to wrap this week up with some lovelies from around the blog world. Enjoy and Happy Friday!

We're still loving the XOXO props {especially since these hang the Louis Vuitton window}

Yellow pom poms! Delicious pops of color.

Tea for two.

It's Fall y'all!

Cakes inspired by art

A statement necklace and cowboy boots? This is a bride after my own heart!

A Gamecock Gal's Guide to Auburn

We'll be heading to Jordan-Hare stadium this weekend to watch our Gamecocks take on Parker's Auburn Tigers. We actually love Auburn and although we haven't quite been convinced to live there {sorry, P!}, we think it's a mighty fine place to watch a ballgame. As for all you Gamecocks that are visiting for the first time, you're in for a treat! Night games are awesome at Auburn and the fans there exhibit some great hospitality. However, before you head to the game, take some time to explore. We've created a fabulous guide to our second favorite college town just for you. Enjoy and Go Cocks!

Oh, Martha!

Major whimsy, y'all! We want to step into the pages of this feature from the Martha Stewart Weddings Fall 2010 issue {on stands now}. The color scheme, the confetti and the bright red lips...we are so in love! We think this could so easily be transitioned to a shower or bachelorette party and the details are just too sweet for words. Visit Martha here to see the rest. XOXO!

Cotton Picked

Unfortunatey, we, along with everyone else we know, are sick. This means we have consumed our fair share of comfort food, gotten a lot of fluids and sleep and are ready for a relaxing weekend. We're excited to decorate for Fall and prepare for a very busy upcoming week{end}. We found some lovely weddings to wrap up the week for you...enjoy!

We're in love with her dress. and shoes. and venue.

She made her dress and veil amongst other details for her wedding. We crown her Queen of the DIY Brides.

Sweet Summer is drawing to a close. Thanks to them,we long for a picnic and one more day at the lake.

Homemade wedding cakes!

La Vie en Rose

To us, there is nothing more romantic or riveting than the French. The food, fashion and wine consistently delight the senses and are always a treat. Ever since we first stepped foot into our 8th grade French classroom, we have looked forward to strolling along the Seine, antiquing in the flea market, enjoying a macaroon from Laduree and basically just immersing ourselves in the culture. Now that we have the love of our life by our side, it's time to enjoy the most romantic city in the world. We think a trip should be planned for early next year. April in Paris? Oui!

Cha-Ching Cherry

Life is a bowl of cherries. As such, life should be juicy, delicious and bursting with flavor. We find this cherry red and crisp white color combo so refreshing and a can't miss for any season. Use it as pops of color everywhere from your groom's bow tie or pocket square to vintage fabric table runners to your bouquet. Use it as pops of flavor for individual cherry pies, as an accompaniment to pork or even cherry soda {cheerwine, anyone?}. One could even serve a Manhattan as a signature cocktail. Just don't forget the maraschinos!

Cotton Picked

We're working from our satellite office in South Carolina today as we prepare for some time with family, friends and Gamecock football. It's been a super busy, super short week, but we were so thankful for the break. Here's a wrap up of some of the beautiful things found in the blog world this week.

We are obsessed with the abandoned plantation in this shoot. We will find it on the way back to Atlanta.

Some life inspiration. Always when you need it.

Tailgate in style with gameday dresses from Judith March.

It's a wedding teepee! We now have a serious urge to build a fort in the living room.

Sew in Love

We love a good DIY project, especially one that includes needle & thread. There is just something so theraputic about the monotonous motion of stitching or the hum of a sewing machine. Thankfully for us, DIY sewing projects are tres chic right now. It's another fantastic way to put that special touch on your wedding day and create something that's oh-so one-of-a-kind. Ideas we love: fabric bouquets and garland, hand sewn invitations and programs. No need to worry if you're not the "project" type. There's always Etsy!

The Gilded Age

Gold. It's absolutely one of our favorite colors. The shimmer of the metal envokes such a warmth! Add the gorgeous grain of wood and you have the perfect mix of raw and refined. Lovely at any time, this color scheme is especially appropriate during the Fall. With the leaves making a fiery debut, it's the perfect time to add your own sparkle; actually, give it the Midas Touch.

Cotton Picked

This is our 100th post! We'll add it to the celebration of our dear friends, Matt & Julia's, engagement along with Carolina winning their first football game. It's going to be a great weekend! Here's a wrap of of some of our weekly favorites. Happy Friday!

These chevron floors makes us want to renovate. Like, now!

Anthro just came out with their September catalog. We don't think we could justify buying every single thing within it's pages {but we'll try}.

This bride wore a $5 dress and a medal made by the groom.

Lovely hand stitched delights for your bridesmaids, friends or your home.

Forever to Thee

Today is Wednesday and I can not focus on anything other than tomorrow. Why? Because it's Thursday...the Thursday that kicks off football season to be exact. Unfortunately, I will not be at Williams-Brice tomorrow, but rather in Midtown Atlanta at Carolyn's {the Gamecock bar in town}. Of course P will be with me and, as an Auburn grad, I've had to give him a lesson on what, for me, being a Gamecock is all about: It's holding the "E" in the Gamecock Cheer, it's hearing the opening strains of 2001, it's "another Carolina first down!", it's Black Magic and a Fire Ant defense, it's "The Visor", it's Fighting Cock Whisky, it's selling out Williams-Brice at 0-21, it's the Wild Cock formation, it's 34-17 {as well as 5-1 & 4-3, thank you, baseball}. Most importantly, it's gathering together with 80,250 of your closest friends and the belief that this is going to be the year! Here's a Health, Carolina...Forever to Thee!
